Specialist Study Skills Support
Following a diagnosis of dyslexia or dyspraxia, you may be advised to apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) to fund specialist one-to-one study skills support sessions.
Anna, is a specialist support tutor and has worked with a wide range of higher education students. These include teachers, sport therapists, nurses, paramedics and historians, studying foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate courses.
Support sessions can be delivered locally in-person or remotely. They are always guided by your individual needs, focusing on your strengths and preferred strategies to manage your university and placement demands.

Apply for DSA
Complete the application form through your Student Finance account
Submit evidence
(Diagnostic Assessment Report)
Await a response which will inform you who to contact for your Needs Assessment

Attend a Needs Assessment
A Needs Assessment Report (NAR) will be sent to you and your funding body
To have study skills support with a preferred provider you will need to request this at your Needs Assessment

DSA Confirmed
Student Finance approve your NAR
A letter (DSA2) will be issued confirming your support

with the NMH Study skills provider on your DSA2 letter
