Dyslexia & Dyspraxia Assessments

A Place for Dyslexia provides dyslexia and dyspraxia assessments for adults in higher education and those studying as part of an apprenticeship.

Dyslexia/dyspraxia diagnosed through a formal assessment is the gateway to a wide range of fully-funded specialist support provision.

This often includes IT equipment, assistive technology and specialist study skills support where you can choose to work one-to-one with a SpLD tutor throughout your course.

Your assessor, Anna, holds an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), a requirement for assessments used to support an application for Disabled Students' Allowance.

As an in-house assessor for the University of Worcester until 2025, Anna has extensive knowledge of the assessment process in higher education.

Assessments take place in a confidential meeting room in Worcester City Centre and usually take between 3 and 4 hours.

Before a booking is confirmed, you will be asked to complete a background information questionnaire to ensure a full assessment is the best way forward.

Anna is happy to answer your questions before, during and after your assessment.

Following your assessment, a diagnostic assessment report will be written to the standards of The SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC). A follow up discussion can also be arranged.

Assessments always take a holistic approach, looking at strengths alongside challenges. â€‹Key areas explored include:

  • Background Information
