Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)

Following a diagnosis of dyslexia or dyspraxia, you may be advised to apply for DSA to fund your specialist support. â€‹

 

​You may claim DSA in addition to your student finance loans and grants and it is not a loan so you will not need to pay it back.

Signposting from DSA to Specialist Support

1) Apply for DSA

• Complete the application form through your Student Finance account

• Submit evidence

(Diagnostic Assessment Report)

• Await response 

3) Funding Confirmed

• Student Finance approve your NAR

• A letter (DSA2) will be issued confirming your support 

2) Attend a Needs Assessment

• A Needs Assessment Report (NAR) will be sent to you and your funding body

If you wish to have your study skills support with Anna, you need to request

'A Place for Dyslexia' at your Needs Assessment.

4) Book Study Skills Support

• Contact your NMH Study skills provider on your DSA2 letter
